The Lizard Children's Centre offers group programs which teach socialisation and reciprocal forms of play. Children are carefully grouped by age and ability and range from typically developing children experiencing difficulty in mastering social skills to those with specific diagnoses.
The curriculum is designed to address each child's individual needs. Areas covered by the group program include conversational skills; following directions; responding to and interacting appropriately with peers; body language and making and maintaining friendships through the use of structured activities and various types of play.
The program is run at the Lizard Centre on Tuesday afternoons (3:30pm – 5:00pm) and all day Saturday.
