The Lizard Centre is recognised as one of Australia’s leading providers of effective evidence-based intervention programs for young children with autism spectrum disorder and /or developmental delay based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
What kind of children come to Lizard?
Your child does not need a specific diagnosis to receive services from Lizard. We can help all children with developmental and / or language delays, such as:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Global Development Delay
- Speech Delay
- None of the above!
Our centres in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide offer a state-of-the-art therapy environment. Outreach programs extend to regional and remote areas.
Lizard Services
Through our services we offer a comprehensive and evidence-based approach to behavioural intervention.
Developmental and functional assessment are conducted prior to the development of individualised intervention plans for your child. We also offer a custom designed digital data collection system to ensure that we are securely, and objectively tracking progress and making changes where necessary.

ABA stands for Applied Behaviour Analysis
Applied Behaviour Analysis is the science of learning, applied to socially significant human behaviour. ABA is not a therapy of its own, but the application of a range of different strategies and techniques. ABA has many applications in education, medicine, organisations and even sports. Most importantly, intervention programs using ABA methodology have been successfully used for over 50 years in establishing lasting improvements in children with ASD. ABA is internationally considered ‘best practice’ methodology for autism intervention. Your child is unique
When a child is diagnosed with an ASD or developmental delay, their intervention program needs to be individually tailored to address their unique set of behavioural excesses and deficits. An ABA program is individualised, intensive and accountable.
We understand that every family circumstance is different and consequently we individualise the program to the child’s needs and family circumstances.
